This is Olya from Kyiv. People called her the Ukrainian Madonna because the woman covered her baby during the shelling of Russian troops.
It was a normal night. Olya woke up to feed her 1-month-old daughter Victoria.
Her husband Dmitry heard an explosion and Olya’s screams. And this was accompanied by the sounds of breaking glass. Alarm, flame, crackle.
He covered his wife and daughter with a blanket.
Surprisingly, a small girl remained unharmed. Instead, the mother was cut by the broken glass. In total, the woman received about 25 injuries.
One wall was demolished in Olya’s house. But the most important thing a woman managed to keep - family, baby and love in the heart.
