This is Offspring, one of the most recognizable symbols of Ukraine.
It has long been grown on our fertile land. Almost 6.5 million hectares are sown with sunflowers in Ukraine every spring.
Latvia has approximately the same area. Fragrant Ukrainian sunflower oil is known and willingly sought after all over the world.

On February 24, 2022, Russian troops entered the city of Henichesk in the Kherson region. An unarmed woman approached a soldier who held a machine gun at the ready. "Put the sunflower seeds in your pocket," she told him aloud. There was no fear of the occupier in her eyes. Like all Ukrainian people, she believed and still believes that the invaders will find their glorious end in our boundless fields. Become a fertilizer.

Time will pass, the seeds from their pockets will germinate. And thousands of sunflowers will raise their yellow heads to the sun again.
